How does Dry Needling work?

Dry needling is a safe, effective treatment using very thin monofilament needles that do NOT contain medication. There are three different ways of performing dry needling.

  1. It can be applied to symptomatic trigger points, which are the tight bands of tissue within a muscle, to promote the body’s own healing mechanisms.

  2. Treat the paravertebral neuro trigger points, where the nerves originate, to create systemic therapeutic effects in the body.

  3. Target homeostatic neuro trigger points that are specific points on the body along the nerves that can improve microcirculation and decrease inflammation to create a homeostatic balance.
